Printique Photo Printing Review: Exceptional Quality

Printique (formerly known as AdoramaPix) focuses on prints, wall art, photo books, photo cards, calendars, and a few other gift items, and does them extremely well. The quality is a cut above. Printique, one of the best photo printing services online, does an amazing job even for a girl with just an iPhone 12 (like me), and offers additional special services for professional photographers.

Printique is a high-end photo service. I have used their regular services and found them to be a cut above. For professional photographers, they offer even more premium services such as white labeling, enhanced quality control, and guaranteed ship dates. I ordered an 8×10 print, four wallet prints, a card (there is no minimum order), and a photo book. All of the professional engagement photos you see in my order were taken by JMS Imagery.

The entire order arrived in one flat package, large enough to hold the 20×30 poster. It was well packaged and everything arrived in perfect condition. The quality of every item was exactly as I expected except for the photo book and the card. The photo book and map exceeded my expectations.

Ordering a photo book was quite easy and the variety of photo books available is staggering. From the cheapest “softcover” books to high-end wedding albums with leather or metal covers and lay-flat pages, you can truly customize your book however you want. I put softcover in quotes because when I ordered softcover books from other sources, I received a soft, flexible book as expected. But Printique’s softcover book is actually a solid book – not just the cover, but each page is actually what Printique calls “thick, durable archival paper” and I would call cardboard. It looks and feels amazing, and it should be less susceptible to damage than normal paper books. You can also virtually share your photo book on the Printique website or on Facebook.

I always appreciate that there is no minimum card order. Ordering a single card is expensive, sure, but it’s nice to have the option. The price drops dramatically once you order 12 or more cards. Either way, most photo printing services put their logo on the back of your cards. Print no! The quality of the card is excellent, beautifully printed on card stock. Another pleasant surprise was the envelope. Instead of the typical plain white paper envelope, this one was fancy off-white paper with a texture.

All the prints are stunning. The wallet photos are pre-cut, so all you have to do is pop them out and they have those nice rounded edges. The color of the color photos is true. The black and white photo looks as it should.

The quality of every item was exactly as I expected except for the photo book and the card. The photo book and map exceeded my expectations.

While the options for creating a photo book, prints (including wall art), and cards are pretty much endless, there isn’t a huge variety of other things to order. When I first wrote this review, the only other gift item available was a photo calendar. However, Printique has since expanded its photo gift offering with glasses, puzzles, and more.

As you might guess, Printique’s prices aren’t the cheapest I’ve found. However, they are not much higher than average and frequently offer promo codes and sales that make them even cheaper. Shipping isn’t free or cheap, so make sure you understand that when ordering. If you live in or near New York, you can pick up your order for free at their stores in Brooklyn or Manhattan.

Exceeds expectations

Printique photo printing review: What I like

Quite simply, everything about Printique met or exceeded my expectations. I was so surprised that my softcover photo book turned out to be made from thick, tough, durable archival paper that looks like thin cardboard. I was delighted to find that the card I ordered did not have a logo on the back and came with a fancy textured paper envelope.

I liked the packaging. Most photo printing services send their poster-sized large format prints rolled in a tube, which means the edges will be curled for a while. Printique sends photo prints in a large flat box, so that no curling can occur.

Although I am not a professional photographer, if I were I would definitely consider paying for their professional service. I like that Printique offers great service for ordinary people as well as professional features for professionals.

Not everything for everyone

Printique photo printing review: What I do not like

If you tend to buy photo gifts for every holiday and need a wide variety of different things to order (like I did when I was a new mom and knew grandparents would love to new things with these babies on it every year), then Printique may not be for you. Other sites have a wider variety of photo gift items.

Premium photo printing service

Printique Photo Printing Review: Conclusion

out of 5

Printique (formerly known as AdoramaPix) offers a wide variety of fantastic quality prints, wall decor, photo books, albums, calendars and cards. There are also a handful of other photo gift items available. The website is easy to use and orders arrive well packaged. I really appreciate the quality of Printique’s prints and photo products.
