NEW collection of 12 graphic art prints of “Secrets of Dumbledore” at House of MinaLima in London

Studio MinaLima continues to amaze and delight us with its perfect graphic art for every mood and era in ongoing tales of the wizarding world that started in the closet under the stairs and now take us to Brazil, Bhutan, Berlin and beyond. We started in the 90s, gave a nod to the 40s, came back to the 20s, and now we’re somewhere in the pre-war depression. I’m looking forward to the April 15 release (in the US, April 8 in the UK) of Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets for many reasons, not the least of which is a chance to see more Studio MinaLina graphics.

For those who are in London, or can get there (take me with you?!?), there will be an exhibition of 12 new graphic art designs for Dumbledore’s secrets at House of MinaLima in Soho, London, from Tuesday 29 March 2022.

According to Warner Bros. :

In the continuity of the Parisian Art Nouveau aesthetic of the previous fantastic beasts film, this film offered MinaLima the opportunity to manifest a distinct Art Deco style, capturing the artistic movement of its time. Much historical research and experimentation with techniques has been used, from researching original patterns and papers to digitizing historical typefaces and particular surfaces to capture and reconstruct the essence and style of the time.

Wizarding World fans will travel the world and experience several other magical cultures through the vibrantly colored artwork created by MinaLima. An integral part of the film’s visual storytelling is the celebration of international magical realms through the creation of very distinct identities for the Ministry of Magic in Germany, as well as key figures from Brazil and China. These badges will be presented to fans as limited edition prints at House of MinaLima.

A visual highlight is the invention – in close collaboration with the film’s wider production team – of the Master Chamber of Ancient Witchcraft, a refuge from the highest headquarters of the wizarding world in Bhutan. Fans will be able to immerse themselves in the symbols and motifs invented by MinaLima, with an aesthetic that refers to a typical decorative vernacular of the Himalayas.

New prints on display will include the Dumbledore family crest, complete with (surprise) a phoenix, 10 wizarding textbooks created for Professor Lally, and the gold cover of the second edition of Newt Scamander’s best-selling book. fantastic beasts and where to find them.

Also on display – and available for purchase – are prints featuring graphics created for the first magic train, The Great Wizards Express, seen in the fantastic beasts series; a brand new German newspaper Die Silbern Fledermaus (for those who don’t speak German, it means “The Silver Bat”); and the ministry’s first-ever wanted poster for Grindelwald.

This collection of original graphic art for fantastic beasts will also be on display at House of MinaLima New York, House of MinaLima Osaka, and House of MinaLima Paju beginning Friday, April 8, 2022. All MInaLima art prints are available at
