DNP launches new IDW520 all-in-one passport and ID photo printing solution

DNP Imagingcomm America Corporation (DNP IAM) announced the launch of its new passport and photo ID solution IDW520™. The IDW520 is designed to produce passport and ID photos that comply with strict federal regulations and add a simple, highly cost-effective service to any photo business or retail store.

The IDW520 system contains DNP’s smallest and lightest passport printer, weighing only 13 pounds. This all-in-one solution includes a Panasonic® FZ80 camera, FlashAir™ card, touchscreen and photo ID printer, so customers have everything they need right out of the box. This complete identification solution simplifies the photo ID process, from taking the photo, making adjustments to federal regulatory compliance, and then printing the image.

“Offering ID photo printing is one of the most profitable services a retail store or photo business can offer,” said Shinichi Yamashita, President of DNP IAM. “One of the hardest parts of offering passport and photo ID services is making sure your customers walk away with a photo that meets all the requirements. With the new IDW520, businesses have everything they need to immediately deploy a new ID photo printing service, including the software to adjust photos for these regulations. On top of that, the solution is compact and user-friendly, so retail stores can easily add the new IDW520 to their already existing photo service areas.

The solution supports and produces IDs for 17 different countries, including specialized ID templates. Using a faster image processor and six built-in image controls that adjust head, size, position, tilt, crop, and more, the IDW520 helps ensure that passport photos meet strict federal requirements. The software also creates a gallery of the last six photos taken, allowing for easy reprints or template changes without the customer needing to take another photo.

The new IDW520 produces the same high quality dye sublimation images that DNP photo printers are known for. ID photo printing makes it easy for businesses to increase revenue and provide customers with an essential service.
